The Nahrmann Bass Shop has been serving bassists across New England since 1999.

A native to Germany, Volker Nahrmann studied classical performance at the University in Graz, Austria, and the conservatory of Music in Frankfurt, Germany. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Jazz Performance.

Nahrmann began working in lutherie in 1976 and currently serves clients from professional musicians to amateurs.

Volker’s lectures on the New England Bass-maker Abraham Prescott have been featured at the ISB, the MFA in Boston and several historical societies in New England.

Volker continues to perform professionally as principal bass with Symphony New Hampshire, and his own band Beyond Borders with Randy Armstrong where he writes and composes.
